Among loudspeaker designers, Eton's ER4 ribbon tweeter enjoys an excellent reputation and appears in numerous high-end designs from well-known manufacturers. Here it plays in its native habitat: a 3.5-way floorstander based on the Eton Acoustics Duetta AWD-11, fitted with the 11-212/C8/50 HEX bass driver and the 7-360 HEX-B mid-bass — all drivers factory-fresh. The pair comes from a project takeover, was completed by us in an exclusive configuration and finished by hand in Germany; it has seen only around 40 to 50 hours of use, has had no previous owner, and its build cost exceeds 12,500 euros.
The crossover was newly developed in the lab with modern measurement technology and populated with high-grade components, complemented by premium internal wiring right through to custom-made WBT speaker terminals. The tuning achieves a sensitivity of 92 dB — enough to make music in high resolution, loud or quiet, even with smaller amplifiers or tube gear; the system draws a precise, three-dimensional soundstage.
Two details deserve separate mention: the included stands of powder-coated 5 mm steel with adjustable spikes, which also allow the speakers' tilt to be fine-tuned and whose chamfers align exactly with the cabinets, and the paintwork in a pearlescent white metallic from the top category of the colour chart — the kind offered as special-order paint on vehicles from Maybach, Lexus, or Bentley. Depending on the light, the metallic effect comes to the fore.
The front-firing 100 mm bass reflex port permits placement close to a wall; rooms from around 20 m² are recommended. The key figures: 4 ohms impedance, 300 to 500 watts RMS power handling, frequency response 22 Hz to 34 kHz, crossover points at 250/2000 Hz, height with stand 1240 mm, width 356 mm, depth 440 mm, 55 kg per speaker. We provide a 36-month HEM-Audio warranty on the loudspeaker electronics; the scope of delivery comprises two speakers and two stands with four spikes each, with no further accessories included.
