Advice and technical solutions

Most problems with sound are not faults in the equipment. They arise between components — or between a component and the room.

An amplifier that cannot do with these loudspeakers what it did with those. A turntable whose cartridge does not match the input. A room that swallows everything below 200 hertz. We listen to what you are hearing and look at what you have — and tell you where the cause lies before anything is bought.

That includes the unspectacular: matching the cartridge to the phono input, clean earthing against hum, the right placement in the room. Measures of that kind cost little and often achieve more than the next most expensive component.
