About

Pieces with character.

Selected high-end components — individually restored, refined and finished in a form that exists nowhere else.

This collection is not a stock list: the pieces shown come from earlier sales and are not necessarily available.

POWER AMPLIFIER

Audio TechnikTriode Class A

The name Audio Technik Triode Class A brings together two terms from classic valve technology: the triode as the amplifying valve and Class A as the operating mode. For collectors, that is the shortest possible statement of the tradition such a component stands in.

CASSETTE DECK

EumigFL-1000 µP

1979–1981

Instead of a flywheel, the capstan carries a control disc with 2,500 graduations: 15,000 pulses per second, read optoelectronically and corrected within microseconds. Without inertial mass, the target speed is reached in under 1/25 second — flying starts without tape wow.

LOUDSPEAKER

OnkyoMonitor 2001

ca. 1988–1989

The 8 cm midrange dome made of plasma carbonite titanium is scored by a precision laser at two points around the dome — this is intended to distribute resonances and smooth peaks in the frequency response. The 35 cm bass driver works with a Pure Cross Carbon diaphragm whose cone base is elliptical in shape (Curved Cone).

TURNTABLE

YamahaPF-1000

The tonearm of the Yamaha PF-1000 is built as a twin tube (Twin-Pipe): the left and right channels run separately inside it, which is intended to improve torsional stiffness and channel separation. The sub-chassis, sprung at three points, does not stand on its springs but hangs from them.

RECEIVER

SansuiG-9000DB

1978

Sansui's “Pure Power DC” concept: via the power amplifier input, the DC-coupled output stage extends from 0 Hz to 200 kHz (+0 / -3 dB) and delivers 160 W continuous power per channel into 8 as well as 4 ohms (20–20,000 Hz, no more than 0.03% distortion). The DB suffix stands for the permanently fitted Dolby section, which the basic G-9000 does not have.

SYSTEM

Audio InnovationsSystem Alto (AM1 + CT1)

um 2001

Alto is not a single component: Audio Innovations used the name for the system made up of the AM1 integrated amplifier and the CT1, which combines CD player and tuner in one housing. A Cambus cable links the two, and the RC1 system remote control operates them.

LOUDSPEAKER

DynaudioXennon 3/100

The Xennon 3/100 was not a finished loudspeaker but a Dynaudio kit. The midrange is handled not by a cone but by the D-76: a 3-inch dome with a voice coil of the same size. The 24W100 bass driver works with a 100 mm aluminium voice coil wound using Dynaudio's patented Hexacoil winding technique.

TURNTABLE

Audio Linear„Black Mirrow“

The black acrylic base plate with its silver aluminium trim follows the Transcriptors design. The record does not rest on a flat mat, but on individual support points on the platter.

LOUDSPEAKER

RevoxSymbol B

1981 bis ca. 1986

Alongside the 315 mm bass driver, the Symbol B holds a passive radiator of the same size without magnet or voice coil, which receives its energy through the air enclosed in the cabinet and supports the bass driver between 30 and 70 Hz. Instead of a fuse, a protection circuit reduces the level by around 30 dB in the event of overload.
