The stamped sheet-metal jumpers supplied with most bi-wiring terminals are often a loudspeaker's sonic weak spot: on its way to the second pair of binding posts, the signal has to cross several contact transitions between different materials, which affects current and voltage. This is exactly where Phonosophie's bi-wiring adapters (AG and CU versions) come in: they feed the signal to the individual crossover branches time-coherently and with the lowest possible resistance.
On suitable loudspeakers the effect is easy to follow: the soundstage detaches more clearly from the cabinets, transient behaviour improves, and both bass and treble sound more controlled and substantial. An unspectacular but effective upgrade for any bi-wiring or bi-amping capable speaker – often more rewarding than a hasty speaker swap.
The pair on offer has been newly reworked: on the output side sit four newly fitted, rhodium-plated 4 mm banana plugs (2x treble, 2x bass), on the input side two original 4 mm sockets for banana plugs; the length is around 22 cm. Both adapters are technically checked and fully functional. The offer comprises 2 pieces (1 pair) without further accessories, delivered securely packed.
